What We Do

We build out of Earth and other natural, local materials so that we can live in comfortable, health-promoting spaces.

We garden and plant our fields in a an effort to grow our food and feed ourselves fresh organic meals.

We live “off the grid”, so we use solar panels to produce electricity for our modest needs. We collect water from the natural spring for drinking and cooking, and river water for bathing. We rise with the sun and work with our natural rhythms. We raise animals, harvest wild fruits and herbs. We practice yoga and meditation. We read, we study, we think, we listen…

Most importantly, though, we teach.  And we share this lifestyle with those who want to join us, to learn, enjoy, and open up to the beauty of a simpler way of living.

“This is what you should do: Love the earth and sun and animals,

despise riches, give alms to everyone that asks,

stand up for the stupid and crazy,

devote your income and labor to others, hate tyrants,

argue not concerning God,

have patience and indulgence toward the people…

reexamine all you have been told in school or church or any book,

dismiss what insults your very soul,

and your flesh shall become a great poem.”

— Walt Whitman
